A treat for breakfast lovers

Breakfast is one meal that inspires passion among many people in this region of the country.

Sunday mornings often see the table laden down with biscuits, country ham, grits and scrambled eggs.

If folks aren't cooking it themselves, they're heading for a quick fix at Waffle House of eggs and scattered-and-smothered hash browns.

Recently, a new entry into the breakfast scramble opened in Peachtree City. The Original Pancake House offers breakfast lovers a new option that is also pretty classy.

Warm earth tones and light beam into the restaurant as diners are greeted with a smile and provided a menu that offers a wondrous variety of breakfast items.

Of particular interest are the omelettes. If you're real hungry, you may want something else because the menu emphasizes that the dish takes a little extra time to prepare.

Each omelette goes through a seven-step process and the result is masterful. This is the closest to homemade that I've found in any restaurant.

The eatery also offers smoked bacon, along with myriad choices when it comes to pancakes.

When was the last time you had pancakes with lingonberries? Well, you can have them here.

As an added touch, the coffee is served with real cream.

Everything is prepared to order and fresh. For my money, this is the best option for breakfast in Fayette County.

The restaurant is behind On the Border, just off Ga. Highway 74.
