Subdivision planned north of Wynnmeade

The West Village area in Peachtree City may get one more new subdivision on an 80-acre tract north of the Wynnmeade subdivision.

Although no concept plan has been filed with the city yet, Piedmont Properties has shown the city some preliminary drawings for the subdivision, confirmed city information specialist Betsy Tyler.

Those preliminary plans show 108 homes, which may be too many for the city's liking. The land is zoned residential-1, meaning minimum lot sizes of 10,000 square feet.

Jim Williams, the city's director of developmental services, told the Planning Commission Monday that he expected a concept plat to be ready by the commission's next meeting.

A key to servicing the property is an access road that will tie it to MacDuff Parkway, Williams added. Although that road would be on county-controlled land, landowner John Wieland Homes has agreed to allow for the road to come through its property, which was a condition of the rezoning council approved for a 300 to 350-home subdivision.
