The Japanese American Friendship Society will have a festival at Glenloch Park in Peachtree City Sunday from 12:30-4:30 p.m.

The event will be held rain or shine since tents will be erected for most of the activities that are planned. Organizers expect more than 1,000 people to attend the festival.

The festival will include games and demonstrations of Japanese culture, such as Origami, Taiko Drums, Yukata and Kimono dress and various martial arts. Other activities include clog and line dancing, putt-putt golf, a basketball throw and a beanbag toss.

A variety of Japanese foods will also be available, including Yakitori (grilled chicken on a skewer), Okonomiyaki (Japanese-style pancakes with meat and vegetables) and Takisoba (Japanese chow mein).

American foods such as hot dogs, pizza and popcorn will also be served.

Several local companies will also have booths set up, including Yokagawa, Yamaha, Panasonic, Shinsei, Nacom, Hoshizaki and TDK.
