The Brooks Town Council adopted the recommendation of its Water and Sewer Department to reset its water restriction hours.

Previously there was a total ban on using water outdoors.

The new hours are from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m., on odd/even days.

"While this ban has been changed," said water Chairman Caroline Smith, "there is still to be no initial filling of swimming pools."

In other business, the Town Council has set its property tax rate for 2000.

After a hearing and a special called meeting, it was a unanimous decision to set the rate at .917 mills.

The rate remains appoximately the same as past years.
