NAACP preparing for 2000 Freedom Fund Banquet
The Fayette County NAACP Freedom Fund 2000 Banquet is shaping up, said branch President the Rev. Edward J. Johnson. The annual gala, which celebrates freedom and funds the NAACP's advocacy programs for civil rights, will be Nov. 4 at the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center in Peachtree City. Five local people will be honored for outstanding community service or distinguished achievement, and the event will include a social hour, dinner, keynote speaker, entertainment, the awards ceremony and dancing. This will be the organization's third Freedom Fund Banquet, and the first to be at the Wyndham.
