Tuesday accident on 85 slows traffic, sends one victim to hospital

A three-car accident on Ga. Highway 85 north in Fayetteville near Kathi Avenue Tuesday afternoon clogged traffic as the center turn lane and one northbound lane were closed.

One victim, whose condition was unknown at press time Tuesday, was taken to the hospital as a result of the accident. Others were treated for their injuries on the scene.

Two of the vehicles, an Isuzu sport utility vehicle and a Pontiac Grand Am, met head-on in the center lane. The third vehicle, a Toyota Camry, struck the side of both cars while it was traveling in the southbound lane.

The accident was being investigated by the Fayetteville Police Department.
