A Florida man was sentenced to 10 years in prison last week after he was convicted for failing to deliver a helicopter to a construction company that had paid $125,000 for it.

Richard Patrick Naylor, of Clearwater, Fla., was found guilty of theft by taking by a 12-person jury. Back in 1998, Mustang Construction Company contracted with Naylor to provide a helicopter that was never delivered to the company, prosecutors alleged.

Naylor indicated in his testimony that the helicopter might have been fully built eventually had he not been locked up here in jail. He also denied that he used the $125,000 payment for his own means.

Naylor is also implicated in several similar cases in Florida, said Maj. Bruce Jordan of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, who conducted the original investigation.

Also last week, two men were convicted of drug charges in separate bench trials before Superior Court Judge Johnnie Caldwell.

Willie F. Carter of Atlanta was found guilty of trafficking in cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison and a $200,000 fine.

Alford Saxton Bostic of Atlanta was found guilty of trafficking cocaine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison and a $200,000 fine.
