Sunday Briefs If The Fayetteville City Council has scheduled a public hearing Monday night to discuss proposed jail impact fees. The hearing will be held during the regular council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Council will also consider an appeal by Big 10 Tires of a Planning and Zoning Commission decision in August denying a special exception request for a tire store at Ga. Highway 54 and LeMans Drive. A resolution is expected to be approved by council Monday calling for a special referendum on liquor-by-the-drink sales in Fayetteville, after a recent petition drive proved successful in getting the measure placed on the ballot. The City Council voted in a special called meeting Wednesday night to roll back the city's millage rate to 3.22. The 4-AAAAA softball tournament starts Monday at McCurry Park in Fayetteville. Fayette County, McIntosh, Starr's Mill, Newnan and East Coweta are among the varsity teams participating. The Fayette Council on Domestic Violence will sponsor a candlelight vigil for victims of domestic violence Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Heritage Park at the Fayette County Administrative Complex on Stonewall Avenue. The Rev. Charles Atkins, pastor of Flat Rock A.M.E. Church, will give the invocation. The event is being organized to raise public awareness of domestic abuse. Candles will be available for a $1 donation. The Lewis Grizzard Memorial Catfish Bike Rid is scheduled for today at 9 a.m. at the Moreland Mill. Call 770-253-2270 for information.
