Political forums set By JOHN THOMPSON The political season gets underway big time next week with two candidates' forum scheduled. The first is set for Wednesday at the Senoia Senior Citizens Center on Howard Road. All candidates, including commission candidates Vernon "Mutt" Hunter and Marvin McKoy, are invited to the forum, which kicks off at 11:30 a.m. The next day, residents can head to the Sasser Building in Senoia City Park to hear the candidates for Senoia City Council and County Commission discuss the issues. The forum starts at 7 p.m. and refreshments will be served. So far, this has been an eventful campaign season in eastern Coweta County. Earlier this year, Senoia Mayor Joan Trammell went against the political establishment and endorsed McKoy against incumbent Hunter. This week, Senoia City Councilman Judy Belisle sent a letter to local newspapers denouncing Ken Gordon's candidacy for City Council. (See related story.)
