The Fayette Thrift Shop, celebrating its tenth anniversary of serving the community, recently had a tea to say thank you to the 88 volunteers who keep it going.

A combined effort to benefit the Fayette Youth Protection Homes and the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence, it has raised more than $800,000 in its 10 years. Because of the generosity of its landlord, Wendell Goodman, and the dozens of volunteers, the shop is able to keep expenses to a bare minimum.

It is at 740 N. Glynn St., Fayetteville, and is open six days a week, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

It can be reached at 770-460-7199 if you wish to donate clothing or become a volunteer.
