The Fayette County Kiwanis Fair kicks off Monday for a week of carnival rides, midway games, informative booths, exhibitions, entertainment and more. There will be a $100 drawing each night of the fair, which ends Saturday. The Kiwanis Fairgrounds is located on Goza Road off Ga. Highway 85 south of Fayetteville.

The festivities continue today for the 10th birthday celebration at DixieLand Fun Park in Fayetteville. Guests who purchase ticket packages of 10 or more today will receive 25 free arcade tokens. Guests have the opportunity to enter free drawings for daily prizes, and all entrants will be eligible for the Birthday Party Weekend grand prize, which includes 50 DixieLand attraction tickets and a DixieLand T-shirt.

The Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission is holding its monthly voting meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Agenda items include: a preliminary Phase I development plan for The Villages at LaFayette Park; development plans for two Walgreen's stores, on Ga. highways 85 and 314 on the north side of town and hwys. 85 and 92 on the south; development plans for a Peachtree National Bank location at Ga. Highway 54 West and Burch Road; revised elevations for the Fayette Promenade retail center on Hwy. 85 across from Fayette Pavilion; development plans for an ABC Pediatrics office on Hwy. 85 South; and revised elevations for Dr. Greg Alvarez's property at 265 North Jeff Davis Drive.
