Kason doubles its size One of Shenandoah Industrial Park's corporate leaders has just finished an ambitious expansion program. Kason Industries, which is the world's leader in manufacturing specialty hardware and accessories for the food service industry, doubled the size of its headquarters and manufacturing plant in the Coweta County-owned business park. The company employs more than 300 residents in production, engineering, sales and office support jobs. "Growing demands for our products, especially in the food service industry, required that we expand our research and development, engineering and production capabilities," said Kason President Peter Katz. During the yearlong expansion project, the primary plant, research and development and general offices have grown to 160,000 square feet. General offices were remodeled and all systems upgraded to accommodate the most up-to-date electronic and computerized equipment and machinery. Kason production facilities feature fully automated die casting, polishing and electroplating processes, using a full range of electronically controlled and robotic machinery. Kason product lines include hardware and accessories for food preparation equipment, commercial coolers and freezers, ice-makers, ovens, heated cabinets, storage facilities and refrigerated and dry goods delivery vans.
