Land donated for fire station

The Fayette County Board of Education has donated three acres on Hampton Road in Inman to the Fayette County government for use as a possible fire station.
The county is working to build four new stations in the coming years.

Having housed a small school early in this century, the tract is no longer in use. "It's too small for a school," quipped board Chairman Debbie Condon before the group unanimously approved the transfer of ownership Monday.
