Habitat for Humanity sets benefit auction

This fall the Atlanta Home Show will feature a different kind of homebuilder — Habitat for Humanity.

Atlanta Habitat, builder of approximately 65 single-family homes a year within the city of Atlanta, will be exhibiting with the 250 other manufacturers, designers, remodelers, and more at the Atlanta Home Show.

Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta will benefit from a live auction of items donated by exhibiting vendors. The auction, will be held Sunday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m.

Items to be auctioned include a Viking barbecue grill, a stained glass window, a chandelier, and many other beautiful items. Proceeds from the auction will help support Atlanta Habitat's mission of offering affordable housing opportunities to qualified, low-income Atlanta families.

Atlanta Habitat will be at the show selling small gift items and distributing information on how you can help. Thanks to the investment of more than 18,000 volunteers and friends each year, Atlanta Habitat has witnessed tremendous growth and success.

Last September, they celebrated the building of their 500th home, a milestone achieved first by Atlanta Habitat among more than 1,500 affiliates nationwide. To build on this momentum, Atlanta Habitat has set an ambitious goal of 200 homes over the next three years.

Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the elimination of substandard housing in Atlanta, working in partnership with corporations, churches, civic organizations, local foundations, and individual volunteers from all walks of life to construct modest, sturdy homes, which are then purchased by qualified, low-income Atlanta families.

Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta is one of 1500 “local affiliates” of Habitat for Humanity International, which is headquartered in Americus, Georgia.

Don't miss the latest in everything from appliances to lighting to siding to landscaping — all under one roof at the Atlanta Home Show.
