Cedarcroft homes under construction

With all the needed approvals from city officials in hand, Ravin Homes Inc. has begun street construction in the first phase of Cedarcroft, the company's 220-home community off Ga. Highway 54 West in Peachtree City.

Michael Rossetti, president of Ravin Homes, said that the pre-sales program for the community has begun, and information about pre-sales can be obtained by calling Stephanie Griffith, the marketing representative for Cedarcroft, at 770-487-9608.

Home prices in Cedarcroft start at $135,000, and Phase I contains 64 homesites. The community is located off MacDuff Parkway, which runs off Hwy. 54 west of Ga. Highway 74 North, and the entrance road into the community is St. Albans Way.

Rossetti said Cedarcroft will be Fayette County's first community of modular homes. The manufacturer is Nationwide Homes, a 30-year-old Martinsville, VA, firm, which has established a facility in Arabi, GA, to produce the homes which are destined for Cedarcroft.

According to Rossetti, modular homes must meet the same building codes as other types of site built housing. “In fact,” he said, “many experts in the building industry believe that modular homes are even higher quality than `stick-built' homes. Manufactured in a climate-controlled facility, modular homes also have the advantage of affordability, and it only takes about three months to complete a modular home.”

Griffith, who has been with the Ravin organization for two years, said that many options for homebuyers are available with modular homes, including such things as cabinet selection, hardwood floors, jacuzzi tubs, ceramic tile baths, countertop color selections, and carpet selection.

The homes in Cedarcroft will contain from 1,300 to 2,000 square feet and both ranch and two-story designs will be available. Completion of the first homes in the community is expected early next year The second phase of the community will consist of 81 homes, while the third and final phase will have 75 homesites.
