USDA sets give-away of food items


Fayette residents can get surplus food commodities from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Friday, Sept. 22 at the following locations:
Peachtree Villas, 100 Villa Point, Peachtree City, 9 - 11:30 a.m.
Brooks City Hall, 9 a.m. to noon.
Fayette Senior Services, 390 Lee St., Fayetteville, 9 a.m. to noon.
To be eligible, recipients must be county residents and meet income requirements ranging from $10,855 for a single person to $37,245 for a family of eight.
There is no requirement to provide proof of income, but if you're obtaining commodities for another person, remember to obtain authority in writing from that person, along with name, address, phone number, social security number, number in household and family income.
