Fayette roads,
streets set for resurfacing
Seventeen Fayette County roads
and ten city streets in the county are slated for resurfacing under the
Georgia Department of Transportation's Local Assistance Road Program.
"The Georgia DOT is committed to providing safe roadways for all
Georgians," said DOT Commissioner Tom Coleman in announcing the work.
LARP is a resurfacing program begun in 1978 to help local governments
preserve the integrity of their paved roads.
Each year cities and counties submit their LARP priority lists, DOT reviews
each road and street submitted and develops a needs assessment and cost
estimate.
