If it's fall, then it must be camp meeting time and Kenwood First Baptist Church is counting the days until Sunday, Sept. 17.

Camp meeting will be Sept. 17 - 22 and will kick off with Old Fashioned Day.

Period dress will be vogue on the 17th, complete with dinner on the grounds.

Two services a day will be conducted from the 18th through the 22nd, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

All events will be at the church.

The Rev. Lynn McClain has served the 200-member congregation since 1997. He is excited about the Mission Conference to be conducted at the church Nov. 12 - 15. Various missionaries will be coming in and the special speaker will be Tommy Tilman, who serves a leper colony in Thailand.

The youth this summer traveled to Nevada to help a mission there. They participated in visitation, had special meetings and worked with youth seeking to find Christ.

The church began in 1954 when a small group of people were seeking the Lord's guidance about starting a new church in the Fayette County area. They met in homes at first and at first called the church the Faith Baptist Church. When they acquired land on in the Kenwood community, the name changed to Kenwood Baptist Church and later became the Kenwood First Baptist Church.

Sunday morning worship is at 11 with Sunday School at 9:45. There is a Sunday
night service at 6 and a Wednesday night Bible study beginning at 7:30.
The church is at 229 Kenwood Road, Fayetteville, and can be reached at 770-461-1326.
