Janet McGregor, owner of JMac Marketing, has been named chairman of the 2000 Fayette Division Metro Atlanta American Heart Walk.
McGregor and more than 5,000 people are expected to walk at Turner Field Sunday, Nov. 12 to help the American Heart Association raise money for its mission to prevent heart disease and stroke, America's leading causes of death and disability.
The 2000 Heart Walk is expected to raise more than $600,000 for the American Heart Association's research and education programs. This will mark the fifth year the American Heart Walk has been a metro-wide event.
Companies throughout the metro area are promoting employee health and wellness by organizing company walking teams. Some of the teams in the Fayette County area are Team Jonathan, Republican Party, Gold's Gym, The Guide, The Chamber Small Business Council and The Fayette County School Food Association. In addition to the company teams, there will be hundreds of heart disease and stroke survivors walking, who will be honored with special red caps to show that they are fighting back against these deadly diseases.
Companies and individuals interested in participating in the 2000 Fayette County Division Metro Atlanta American Heart Walk should phone Mary O'Connor at 678-385-2073 or Janet McGregor at 770-631-9503.
