Master Gardener classes offered

If you enjoy plants and enjoy being around people, then you might want to consider becoming a Master Gardener.

Master Gardener classes will be offered at the Clayton County Commissioners Conference Center in Jonesboro Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30-5 p.m., Jan. 8 through March 21.

An $80 fee is charged for notebook and other supplies, and 50 hours of volunteer service to the Extension Service is required. You must be a resident of Fayette County to enroll. Topics to be covered include landscape design, annuals and perennials, trees, ornamental shrubs, fruit and vegetable gardening, pest identification and control, plant physiology, entomology and pathology, lawn care and more.
