Roadwork on Jeff
Davis Dr. to proceed

The Fayetteville City Council last week approved a contract with the state
Department of Transportation for the construction of Jeff Davis Drive
turn lanes from Lanier Avenue to Jimmy Mayfield Boulevard.
The contract amount is $224,357.70. The impact fee fund will pay for the
remainder of the estimated $500,000 project.
City engineer Don Easterbrook told the council that he expects bids to
be open within two to three months and construction completed by this
time next year. There are no right-of-way problems that would possibly
hold up the work, he reported.
