The settlement in the wrongful death lawsuit filed against Jim Watson regarding the death of his wife, Beverley Watson, has been approved by Superior Court Judge Paschal A. English Jr.

The suit was lodged last year by Beverley Watson’s father, Fred Callaway, on behalf of the Watsons’ two children. Beverley Watson was reported missing by her husband back in January 1997, though her body wasn’t found until March of last year. A surveyor had stumbled upon her remains in a rural area of south Fulton County near Fairburn.

Jim Watson told police that his wife left after they argued over their pending separation. No one has been charged in Watson’s death, though Fayette County Sheriff Randall Johnson said he thinks the 33-year-old woman was murdered.

Details of the settlement were not available since that document was sealed by the court. An order that the settlement be executed, however, revealed that a trust will be created for both children and the trust will hold proceeds of the settlement agreement.
