Fayetteville residents can speak their minds on ordinances for annexation and rezoning of the proposed Deer Pointe development Monday. A public hearing is on the agenda as the City Council gathers at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The 873-acre site is at Lester and Huiett roads. Council also will consider a resolution to submit that development to the Atlanta Regional Commission for consideration of possible regional impact.

The Peachtree Wind Ensemble Community Band is presenting a children's concert featuring famous Disney songs today at 3 p.m. at Picnic Park in Peachtree City. The group performs eight to 10 concerts per year, plus community outreach programs at nursing homes and civic functions. For information on the band, phone 770-487-6687.

The Fayette County Board of Education's Facilities Advisory and Action Committees will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the media room of the LaFayette Education Center. The board-appointed group will review and discuss student population trends, the state facility plan, options for housing students, funding options and the results of the facilities survey. Recommendations from the committee will follow.

Applicants have requested tabling of three items on Tuesday night's Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission agenda — development plan for Hooters restaurant, a special exception for Big 10 Tires on LeMans Drive, and a variance request and development plan for Carolyn Ford.
