Authorities
executed a search warrant on the home of The
Market co-owner Taylor Williams early Tuesday
evening.
Officers
were looking for evidence of counterfeit CDs at
the home, said Maj. Bruce Jordan of the Fayette
County Sheriff's Department.
Jordan
said some items were seized from Williams's home
on Shady Brook Walk near Fairburn, but he
declined to say what the items were. The search
was conducted by the Fayette County Sheriff's
Department and the Fayetteville Police
Department, Jordan added.
The
other co-owner of The Market, Clifford E.
Levingston, owns a home in the same subdivision
as Williams, but that residence appeared to be
empty, Jordan said. It is undetermined whether a
search warrant will be sought for Levingston's
residence, Jordan said.
We're
not sure where he lives, Jordan added.
Williams
and Levingston are charged with one felony count
of reproducing previously recorded materials.
They also face misdemeanor charges of
contributing to the delinquency of a minor and
providing harmful materials to a minor relating
to the operation of the teen club.
Last
Friday, Superior Court Judge Paschal English
approved shutting The Market down with a
temporary protective order. The city of
Fayetteville filed the petition requesting The
Market be closed because its operation presented
a danger to local youths.
The
order will remain in effect until a full hearing
can be heard on the matter, Judge English said.
That
decision came after undercover video was played
in open court which depicted youths dancing in a
manner that appeared to be mimicking sexual
intercourse, the judge said.
