Newnan mayor gets
tech position Gov. Roy
Barnes swore in the members of the Georgia
Technology Authority earlier this week at the
state Capitol.
One
of the authority members is Newnan Mayor Keith
Brady.
The
authority was created by the Georgia Technology
Authority Act, which was proposed by Barnes and
enacted by the General Assembly this year. It
will be responsible for overseeing the planning,
procurement and management of state government's
telephone, Internet and computer systems.
The
authority has 12 members. Seven are appointed by
the governor and two each by the lieutenant
governor and speaker of the House. There is also
an ex-officio member appointed by the chief
justice who has not yet been named.
