Rep. Collins honored by food industry

U.S. Rep. Mac Collins has been honored by Food Distributors International, a trade group representing 232 companies.

Collins, who represents Fayette and other counties in the 3rd District of Georgia, received the organization's 2000 Thomas Jefferson Award, given to members of Congress who have supported legislation the organization agrees with.

Recipients of the award must vote favorably on at least 75 percent of 14 bills that FDI considers critical.

“The Thomas Jefferson Award is our opportunity to recognize these members of Congress who have shown heir support for business and have worked to crate a government that allows our industry to prosper,” said FDI President John R. Block.
