Rep. Collins honored
by food industry U.S. Rep.
Mac Collins has been honored by Food Distributors
International, a trade group representing 232
companies.
Collins,
who represents Fayette and other counties in the
3rd District of Georgia, received the
organization's 2000 Thomas Jefferson Award, given
to members of Congress who have supported
legislation the organization agrees with.
Recipients
of the award must vote favorably on at least 75
percent of 14 bills that FDI considers critical.
The
Thomas Jefferson Award is our opportunity to
recognize these members of Congress who have
shown heir support for business and have worked
to crate a government that allows our industry to
prosper, said FDI President John R. Block.
