Tyrone officials are expected to discuss Fayette County's request for an impact fee Thursday night, but don't look for a resolution any time soon.

Before the county can impose an impact fee, all the municipalities must sign off on it. In comments last week, Tyrone Councilman Ronnie Cannon said he would do everything he can to postpone the issue until the county starts dealing seriously with the tax equalization question that Cannon brought up a year ago.

The county hired an independent consultant this year to see if the municipalities were being double-taxed, but the issue hasn't been resolved yet.

The Tyrone Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Tyrone town Hall.
