EMS crews get high praise from clients

Residents of Fayette County seem to be thrilled with the service they're receiving from emergency medical crews.

The county's Emergency Medical Service conducts monthly surveys of those who are transported by ambulance, and in the most recent survey, respondents rated the service an average of 9.84 out of ten.

And 54 of the 68 surveyed gave the ambulance crews a perfect ten on all seven of the categories they were asked to rate.

Every person transported by the county EMS is asked to rate the treatment received on professionalism, friendliness, neatness, attitude of crew, patient handling and transportation, and give an overall ranking.

Noticing the survey report in his in box recently, Commission Chairman Harold Bost was impressed. “That's an absolutely outstanding job,” he said during last week's County Commission meeting.

Commissioner Linda Wells added that she has noted the service's high marks over previous years as a commissioner, and also has been impressed.

“The overwhelming complaint,” she said, “has been that there was a rough ride in the back of the ambulance. But month after month the responses are overwhelmingly positive,” she said. “We have an excellent group of people.”
