Macaroni Grill site plan OK'd

At its regularly scheduled meeting Monday, the Peachtree City Planning Commission approved the conceptual site plan for Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant.

The restaurant will have between 88 and 90 parking spaces, which is fewer than the 125 the company usually requires, said Monte Rosenberger, who made the presentation to the commission.

The eatery will be located between the Chili's and Longhorn Steaks restaurants.

The commission also approved the conceptual site plan for the CertainTeed storage yard expansion. The area would be used to store pallets of shingles, said Don Cobb, who presented the plan to the commission.

Those pallets won't be stacked and they will be covered with plastic so it won't hurt the environment, a manager said. The additional storage will open up space inside the main building, but the commission was assured that space won't be used to expand production levels.

After that was settled, the commission tacked on a condition that appropriate fencing be used around the addition.

The conceptual plan for Peachtree Medical Center was postponed since a new plan was submitted by another architectural firm representing the developer. The building would be located at the corner of Hwy. 74 and McWilliams Drive.

The commission also approved a landscape plan for the Barrow Retail Center, which will be located on Ga. Highway 74 North.
