Offshoot Productions presents plays for kids thanks to grant from Target

Offshoot Productions has received a $3000 grant from Target Stores to support the Fayette County-based organization's theatre offerings and actor training. The funding is being used for the summer 2000 "Festival of Theatre for Children."

Offshoot's summer program includes performances of the children's participatory musical plays, The Tale of the Frog Prince and The Further Adventures of Maide Marian, at LaFayette Educational Center in Fayetteville from July 20 to July 30.

"This is Offshoot's third grant from Target," said Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D., producing artistic director. "We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with this community-minded company." Target has a long-standing commitment to give a percentage of the its taxable profits to community organizations for programs focused on strengthening and enriching family life.

Preview of both plays on Thursday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m. Regular performances of Maide Marian: 8:00 p.m. on July 21-22, 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 27; and 3 p.m. on July 29-30.Frog Prince performances: 3:00 p.m. on July 22-23; 10:30 a.m. on July 27; and 8:00 p.m. on July 28-29. Preview tickets are $6; all other performances, $5.
