PTC library prepares to deliver books

If you can't make it to the Peachtree City Library because of medical problems or a physical disability, the library wants to come to you.

Beginning Monday, the library will start a novel delivery service on a biweekly basis. Delivery customers will have access to all library materials available for checkout including standard books, large print books, audio books and videos.

The service will be available to Peachtree City residents only who are homebound due to age, chronic illness or physical disability.

Requirements for participating in the novel delivery program include having a current PINES library card in good standing, proof of Peachtree City residency and a completed application form. The application form is currently on hand at the library. It can also be requested by phone at 770 631-2520 or printed off the library's web site at www.peachtree-city.org/library/index.htm.

Library technology and training manager Jill Kuhns said she thinks the primary customers will be senior citizens.

“My hope is that this service will significantly enhance the lives of our homebound residents,” Kuhns said.
