Club shines during telecast The Region Bank's Heritage Club turned out in force June 22 to be part of the Aging in Georgia television program, filmed by Channel 10-WGET at the Newnan Country Club. Members of the Heritage Club and their guests from Fayette and Coweta counties filled the large banquet hall to capacity. The luncheon program will be shown in two 30-minute segments on WGET in Newnan. The first part will primarily feature the Heritage Club members, the show hosts, Tamela Ragsdale and Gina Weathersby and Regions Bank officials. Nancy Price, marketing officer at Regions Bank and Heritage Club coordinator, co-hosted the show with Ragsdale and Weathersby. The trio involved many of the seniors, bringing them into the spotlight to talk about the fun activities and trips they enjoy as members of the Club. During the second portion of the show, Joe Mason is featured. Mason touts himself as a humorist, troubadour, player of piano and teller of tales. Price received numerous requests to have Mason entertain the Club members. Mason is a former columnist for the Decatur News Era and has published two collections, the latest is titled Mason Jars: Confessions of an Only Child. Mason kept the crowd laughing with his anecdotes, humor and singing. Once he finally discovered the proper way to drape the ukulele around his neck, he sang a few tunes including his patented renditions of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. The 30-minute show airs Monday through Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. For more information regarding Aging in Georgia, contact Gina Weathersby at 770-253-3353.
