New Life Resources, the publications arm of the Campus Crusade for Christ, broke ground this week for its new 22,000-sq. ft. warehouse in Peachtree City's Crosstown 74 Business Park.

Its current facility on TDK Boulevard serves as the headquarters for shipping out tons of printed material, plus videos and cassettes, to churches and Christians seeking outreach strategies, resources for youth and children plus families and individuals interested in enriching their spiritual lives.

According to Pat Pearce, director of New Life Resources, the organization's primary goal is to “help fulfill the great commission,” that is, proclaiming the gospel to everyone, everywhere in the world.

“We are not a church,” Pearce emphasized. “We are a para-church, a ministry which assists churches, groups and individuals with appropriate materials.”

The Campus Crusade for Christ is a large and diverse organization with 40 different ministries. “Some have their own distribution centers for materials, but the largest and most comprehensive warehouse is located here,” Pearce noted.

He explained that there is a large demand for materials from all areas of Campus Crusade ministries that can be found on college and university campuses, in high school athletic programs, and in the military. The materials are literally developed “in the field by the same people who are doing the work,” Pearce said. “They are the ones who are developing the tools.”

One of the most popular Bible study series currently is called “Home Builders,” Pearce said. Family Life conferences staged by Campus Crusade in major cities like Atlanta draw between 3,000 and 4,000 husbands and wives seeking to repair or enrich their marriages, he explained. “It's powerful stuff,” he said.

Another area where Campus Crusade has focused its attention is on high school materials and programs for even younger children. “The tools will always be changed,” Pearce explained, to address current trends in society. For instance, the tract entitled, “The Four Spiritual Laws,” which presents “a clear explanation of the gospel of Jesus Christ” and is used as an evangelistic tool, has also spawned another tract entitled “Would You Like to Know God Personally?”

Pearce said that this is the four spiritual laws couched in a relationship-based format that reflects today's relationship-oriented society.

New Life Resources has grown significantly since it was launched in 1989 from a 1,100-sq. ft. warehouse in Union City. Pearce recalled the ministry's next move to a 5,400-sq. ft. space on Dividend Drive in Peachtree City and eventually to its current 10,000-sq. ft. home, which is now outgrown. The new center is expected to open in October and will feature a display area in the foyer.

Last fall, Pearce and his staff of 15 distributed approximately 183 copies of the “Jesus” video in a six-county area. They continue to send out the popular tape nationwide.

Pearce has been affiliated with Campus Crusade since 1977. He and his wife, Linda, have three children and live in Peachtree City.
