Amie La Porte of Peachtree City has accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) and will be honored during a campus ceremony this fall at Agnes Scott College.

La Porte, the daughter of George and Laurie La Porte, has a strong educational background. While attending McIntosh, she was on the honor roll every semester. La Porte was also a member of National Honor Society, Thespian Society, Math Team, Beta Club, French Club and French National Honor Society. She graduated 24th out of 502 students and had a GPA of 95.042.

She has also been a tutor for the YMCA and Beta Club, an exchange student to France as well as a host student for a student from France, a YMCA camp counselor and a county finalist for the Governor's Honor Program. La porte received a major scholarship to Agnes Scott College and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.77 in two semesters at the school.

NSCS is a highly selective, national, non-profit honors organization. Founded in 1994, NSCS recognizes undergraduate students who excel academically. The Society was established on the principle that with scholarship comes a responsibility to develop leadership and a duty to perform service.

“NSCS provides the opportunity for students, like Amie, to be recognized for their outstanding academic accomplishments early in their college experience,” said Steve Loflin, NSCS Executive Director. “Amie will also have the opportunity to join other high achieving college students in developing leadership skills and a sense of civic responsibility.”

For additional information on NSCS, call 202-234-5295 or visit them on the web at www.nscs.org.
