Starbucks plans 3rd N. Fayette location

Fayette residents will not lack for caffeine in the near future.

A third Starbucks cafe is slated to open as part of Dekor, a home improvement and decorating design business under construction in Fayette Pavilion's phase three, fronting on Ga. Highway 314.

A freestanding Starbucks is at the opposite entrance to Pavilion on Ga. Highway 85, and a cafe also is available inside Barnes and Noble on the opposite side of Hwy. 85.

Fayette's Zoning Board of Appeals Monday paved the way for the Dekor Starbucks, approving an exception to the county's sign ordinance to allow a separate sign to let patrons know the cafe is inside.

Dekor will occupy the space originally slated for Upton's. The department store chain went out of business shortly after announcing its plans to open a Pavilion location last year.

Starbucks will have a separate entrance and will be open both earlier and later than Dekor, said Gerry O'Sullivan, director of stores for Dekor.

The cafe will occupy about 1,300 square feet in the store, he said.
