Bond
hearings were postponed Friday for two suspects
in a Fayetteville home invasion case since
neither had lawyers representing them in court.
One
of the suspects, Gerald Antonio Raysor, 29, told
Superior Court Judge Ben J. Miller that he has
hired an attorney. But Raysor claimed he was only
notified of the bond hearing the previous evening
after 10 p.m. when access to phones is cut off to
inmates at the jail.
The
other suspect, Thale Antaneal Brownlee, 25, also
said he didn't know about the hearing until the
night before. He indicated that his family was
going to hire a lawyer to represent him, but they
had not done so yet.
Raysor's
attorney was contacted, but he could not show up
in court later in the afternoon. Judge Miller
said the pair's bond hearings will be Friday,
July 21.
The
two are accused of forcing Thaddius White into
his home March 8 and tying him up. A small amount
of cash was taken before White's attackers left
the scene, police said.
Neither
White nor his two children were hurt seriously
during the incident.
Brownlee
and Raysor were arrested for armed robbery and
burglary several weeks ago when police found them
at Raysor's Atlanta residence. Brownlee also was
charged with possession of a firearm during the
commission of a crime.
