Hollingsworth House now open

The Hollingsworth House, located at 200 Stonewall Avenue West, is now complete and available for rental.

Built in 1906 and originally located next to First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, it was scheduled to be demolished, but a group of individuals wanting to see it preserved asked the church for help. The house was given to the city's Downtown Development Authority, who accomplished the moving and restoration of the house through a combination of private and public funding, including the donations of many generous businesses and individuals.

The Hollingsworth House is now being used for special events and is available to the public to be rented for weddings, receptions, dinners, meetings and other social events. Rental proceeds will fund the ongoing maintenance and improvements to the house and future projects to enhance Fayetteville's Main Street program.

“The Downtown Development Authority is pleased to have this beautiful home of historical significance to offer to the community for its pleasure and enjoyment,” according to a recent statement.

The house is available for rent seven days a week. Half-day and full-day rentals are available Monday through Thursday, while full-day rentals are available Friday through Sunday.

Susan Burch is the house manager and is available to coordinate scheduling of events and oversee the house. She can be reached at 770-235-7541 for more information.
