East Coweta hires new principal

During this week's school board meeting, the board hired Michael Wade. Wade comes to Coweta from Sumter County, where he has been principal of Sumter County High School for 6 years. In addition, Wade holds an ED. S. degree in Educational Leadership, is a reading specialist, and has a degree in school counseling.

The system also announced other personnel changes.

Another newcomer to Coweta County, Dr. Patricia Falk, has been named principal of Arbor Springs Elementary School. Dr. Falk has been principal of Grosse Point Academy in Grosse Point, Michigan for one year.

Previously, she spent 5 years as a middle school principal in Indiana and Michigan. Dr. Falk is also certified in special education.

Mark Ballou has been named principal of Atkinson Elementary School. Ballou has been principal of Arbor Springs Elementary for one year, in addition to serving several years as assistant principal at Newnan High School.

Chris Scott is the new principal at Eastside Elementary School. This is Scott's first principalship, following a year as assistant principal at Madras Middle School and a successful teaching career at Ruth Hill Elementary School.

Susan Wareham will be transferred from Poplar Road Elementary School to serve as Director of Curriculum, Grades Pre-K through 5.

Wareham served at Poplar Road for 2 years, following several years as the instructional lead teacher at Thomas Crossroads, Canongate, and Eastside Elementary Schools.
