Local geneaologist
unveils CD Fayetteville's
Jeannette Holland Austin's new compact disc
Internet Ancestors 2000 will make
genealogy research just a little bit easier.
This
one-of-a-kind compact disc, written in HTML code,
is available to assist genealogists in doing
their research online. A researcher simply goes
online, inserts the CD, then clicks on the links.
He or she will then find it possible to do
fingertip research through vast stores of
information in a fraction of the time formerly
needed.
Internet
Ancestors 2000 is the alternative to spending
countless hours surfing the web in search of
data, and then trying to bookmark it, said
Austin, a longtime genealogist.
The
web has been a blessing to the genealogist during
recent years, making the task of researching
records less cumbersome as online databases,
family histories, census, county records, etc.,
by sending them directly to their desired sources
for information, she added.
To
see a sample of how this works, go to http:geneology-books.combooktxinterne2.html
and click on Georgia.
Austin
has written more than 50 books on family
histories, databases and various county and state
records. Most of these books were published by
the Genealogy Publishing Co. (770-719-1754) and
are sold by them and numerous other book dealers
and stores. She also publishes a free weekly
online newsletter, Expert Genealogy,
a help for the beginner to the expert which
discusses all research techniques.
The
Genealogy Books website (www.genealogy-books.com)
is the largest growing web bookstore, containing
more than 10,000 titles for the genealogist.
Genealogy Books is located at 175 Thornton Dr. in
Fayetteville.
