There are a number of things about Heritage Harvest Church that are unique, the first one being it has its own logo. It is a shaft of wheat blowing in the wind indicating the members are ready to be harvested to do God's work. Not very many churches in Fayette County have schools or colleges on campus, but beginning this fall, Heritage will have one entitled Harvest International Bible Institute. At the beginning there will be a one-day-a-week seminar, each Friday at 7:30 p.m. The church is expected to add additional hours soon. An adult mission group from this church and several others will travel to Viet Nam and Indonesia in November. They will spend several weeks conducting Bible studies both on land and on churches that are on boats. Participants will go through ministry team training before going. The church's youth are busy this summer in assisting youth groups in surrounding counties in Bible studies. This nine-year-old congregation began in Fayetteville, first in a store front and then merging with another church. Last year it added a new 250-seat sanctuary onto its original one. The former sanctuary was used for Sunday School rooms and an enlarged nursery. Pastor Ron Stribling adds another rare feature by being one of the few pastors in the county to be born and reared in the Atlanta area. The church is a member of the Interdenominational Apostolic Ministries, which includes 500 churches world wide. They are in covenant with one another and are accountable to each other for their actions and ministries. Heritage Harvest Church is at 1653 Ga. Highway 85 south and can be reached at 770-460-9801.
