Local Girl Scout volunteers are honored

Six Fayette County volunteers were recognized for their outstanding contribution to Girl Scouts in the Pine Valley Council.

Brenda Torbush, an active volunteer for more than 20 years, was awarded the Thanks Badge II. Torbush has served as a troop leader, administrative volunteer and a volunteer trainer.

Lynn Fletcher received the Thanks Badge. She led the Adult Development Task Force in reviewing and revamping the volunteer training process for the council. Fletcher has been a troop leader and volunteer trainer.

Kim Jeffords received the Honor Pin, which is awarded to a volunteer for outstanding service in two or more geographic locations within the council's 14-county jurisdiction. Jeffords has served as a troop leader and has coordinated the Fayette County Girl Scout Day Camp for three years. She also is a volunteer trainer.

The Appreciation Pin was awarded to three Fayette County leaders: Brianna Torbush, Barbara Swafford and Diane Yost. This award recognizes an adult who has delivered outstanding service, beyond the expectations for the position to at least one geographic area, service unit or program delivery audience.
