Summer school deadline Monday

Registration for summer school 2000 will be Monday, June 5 from 8 a.m. to noon at Rising Starr Middle School and Starr's Mill High School.

Classes begin June 6 and end July 20. Tuition for high school art and science classes is $225; all other classes $210. Tuition for out of county residents is $295. There will be a $50 fee for registration after June 5. A $5 notification fee will be added if a student enrolls without a parent present or if a parent registers a student without the student present or either parent or student fails to sign the forms during the early registration period.

Registration fees will be due no later than the day of registration. There will be no delayed payments. A returned check charge will be $60. Payment of any returned check will be cash only. Parents must provide transportation for their children to and from summer school. Students should not arrive before 7:20 a.m. and must be picked up immediately after the last class. There will be a $2 per five minutes charge if a student is not picked up within 10 minutes of his or her last class.

Classes meet Monday through Thursday. The middle school's first period runs 7:30-10 a.m. Second period is 10:10 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Lunch is 12:40 - 1 p.m. Third period is 1 - 3:30 p.m.

The high school's first period runs 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. There is a break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and second period runs 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
