The Peachtree City Library will host Don Hastings, author of the popular Gardening in the South series, Thursday, June 8, at 7 p.m. Hastings and his son Chris will share their secrets for a beautiful summer garden and answer questions from the audience. Hastings also will sign copies of his gardening guides, including Month-by-Month Gardening in the South and his memoir Rich Harvest. He joined Hastings Seed Company in 1950 after graduating from Cornell University. The company, started in 1899 by his grandfather, was sold in 1976, and Hastings has since become a Southern gardening institution as a horticultural consultant, lecturer, columnist, television personality, radio talk show host and Third World agricultural developer and planner. The public is invited to this free program in the Floy Farr Room of the library.
