County recieves
payments for emergency mgt. projects Georgia
Emergency Management Agency representative Bill
Blackwell presented two checks totalling
$53,253.50 to Fayette County officials Tuesday.
The
payments represent the state agency's grant to
Fayette for two hazard mitigation projects, the
purchase of an early warning siren and the
relocation of fire station one out of potentially
dangerous flood plain on Ga. Highway 92 north.
County
commissioners Greg Dunn and Harold Bost were on
hand to receive the payments along with Jack
Krakeel, director of fire and emergency services,
and deputy director Pete Nelms.
The
county has undertaken a long-term project to
place warning sirens around the county for
weather related emergencies.
