Fayette Baptist expanding, moving forward

“My personal goal,” states Pastor Larry Spencer, “is to see that this church meets the needs of every family and every member of the Fayette Baptist Church. I want to concentrate on building people spiritually and it's the people who will then build the church.”

In order to help the members do this, the church is currently looking for a youth pastor, and has just added staff to its Fayette Christian School. The school is for grades K-12 and has been successful to the point the church is looking for property in the county to build a new sanctuary and school.

“We are sad that we must turn away students and look forward to a new site and larger quarters,” said Pastor Spencer.

Until that time the youth and adults look forward to participating in summer events. One of the events adults will be participating in is traveling to Michigan to establish a new church. If you are skilled in construction, they would like to have you along.

This congregation first met in 1972 and currently meets Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. for worship and at 10 a.m. for Sunday School. Sunday evening worship is at 6 p.m. and a Bible study is held each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

The church is located at 152 Longview Road, just off Hwy. 314. It can be reached at 770-461-3539.
