An unexpected charge on a credit card led to an arrest in police believe could be a conspiracy among employees at a local grocery store.

According to Fayetteville Police Department reports, a customer called the manager of the Kroger at Banks Crossing to report that she had two high-value charges on her statement for purchases that she knew nothing about.

A subsequent investigation found that several employees were involved, along with one employee's boyfriend, using the unsuspecting customer's credit card number without her card for purchases.

Chris L. Grant, 19, of Fayetteville was arrested for forgery in the first degree and financial transaction card theft, according to reports.
