Some churches have already moved, some are in the process and some realize they will have to in another couple of years. The Fayetteville Church of Christ is in the middle category. It sold its property almost two years ago on Ga. Highway 85 north, where Barnes and Noble is about to open. Until we are able to build a whole new complex, said minister Scott Harp, we are meeting in the office buildings behind the IHOP in Fayetteville. He is celebrating his fifth year with the church today. Plans for the new church show that available seats for worship will increase by 200 and the entire facility will contain 40,000 square feet. The church supports a number of missions, with the Fayette Samaritans being one of those. Others include The Atlanta Inner-City Ministry, Raintree Village for Children, three churches in Georgia and one in Scotland, Southern Christian University for Mission Studies, Brown Trail School of Preaching and the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort. Upcoming events include a ladies' night out with bowling in Newnan May 12, a mother-daughter brunch at the Joseph Sams School May 13, and that same day there will be a Christ Golf Outing for women and men. The Silver Wings will make a tour of the CNN Center May 20. Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is a church mission devoted to providing an atmosphere of leadership programs that can equip third graders through college with the knowledge and skills to become Bible school teachers, effective speakers and church leaders so that they can take these talents into communities in need of Christ, even before they graduate from high school. The program boasts a 90 percent retention rate for young people and is a program that goes beyond helping churches keep their youth faithful. This group attended a weekend of Bible reading, song leading, etc. with several thousand other youth participating in the contest, and the Fayetteville group came back with 93 awards. This summer, a group of the adults will be traveling to the Fiji Islands on a mission trip and expect to be gone for several weeks. The Vacation Bible School will be a little different than most; it will be Saturday, June 24, and be an all-day event. Services are at 207 Jeff Davis Place, Fayetteville with Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., Bible classes at 9:45 a.m., Sunday evening services at 6 p.m. and Wednesday evening Bible studies at 7:15 p.m. Its web address is www.fcoc.com and the various sites come complete with hymns playing in the background
