Six Fayette County school leaders were honored at a new principal's reception at the Carter Center recently.

The Principal's Center at Georgia State University is the host of this event, which annually honors first-year principals. Included are Tyrone Jones, Flat Rock Middle School; Greg Stillions, McIntosh High School; Louis Robinson, North Fayette Elementary; Barbara Bakelaar, Rising Starr Middle School; Sam Sweat, Starr's Mill High School; and Sandra Kidd, Whitewater Middle School.

Former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young spoke on the topic of leadership for today's schools.
