Janet Smola of Tyrone has announced that she will seek election to Fayette County Board of Education Post 1.

Smola, 48, has worked as a fund raiser for the Joseph Sams School since 1995 and has been an active participant in the community, serving this past year as chairman of the Fayette Citizens for Continued Excellence in Education.

Smola is married to Michael and has three sons, Evan 16, Zachary 14 and Andrew 12.
