The
Fayette County Commission Thursday will continue
its discussion of proposed changes to the
county's employee insurance benefits.
Commissioners
April 5 agreed to convert to a preferred provider
plan to save money, paying more of employees'
medical costs through county insurance if they
use physicians and hospitals on the preferred
list.
But
they delayed choosing a particular preferred
provider carrier to gather more information.
Also
on the agenda Thursday will be appointment of two
members of the county Development Authority.
Authority Chairman Randy Hayes is to be
reappointed to an additional four-year term, and
it's recommended that Dot Kite be appointed to
fill the unexpired term of Sherrill Russ.
Several
rezoning items are on the commission agenda, but
all of them were tabled recently by the county
Planning Commission, which makes recommendations
to the Board of Commissioners. The commission
probably will table these items until the
Planning Commission takes action on them.
The
Planning Commission did recommend approval of a
new chapter on environmental and historic
resources for the county Land Use Plan, and
commissioners will consider that item Thursday.

web site at admin.co.fayette.ga.us.
